Manly does something rare: it runs happy hours seven days a week, across more than 25 venues, most within a ten-minute walk of each other. You can drink a $5 draught beer at 4pm on a Friday, walk three minutes to a back-alley wine bar for $10 negronis, and finish with a $15 cocktail watching the ferries pull in — all without spending more than $30.
The catch? Not all deals are created equal. Some venues advertise "happy hour" but knock a dollar off a $16 pint. Others pour genuinely good drinks at half the regular price. This guide separates the two.

Felons Brewing Co — Manly Wharf's Living Room

Felons took over the old Manly Wharf Bar and turned it into a sprawling waterfront beer hall with live jazz, DJ sets, and one of the best harbour views in Sydney. The happy hour is straightforward and generous: $10 wines, $10 pints, $15 cocktails every single day. Their Crisp Lager is a standout, and the Galaxy Haze is worth the extra dollar outside happy hour.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Felons Barrel Room downstairs runs a late session from 8–10pm with the same pricing. It's darker, louder, and leans more into the cocktail side of things — a strong option if you missed the 4–6pm window.
Tip: Get there by 4:30pm on sunny days. The best seats — the outdoor lounges facing the harbour — fill fast.
Felons Seafood — Oysters and Ocean Hour

Three doors down from the brewery, Felons Seafood runs its own happy hour with $9 beer, seltzer and cider, $10 select wines, and $15 signature cocktails. The real play here is pairing the drinks with $3 freshly shucked oysters — one of the best-value seafood-and-drinks combos on the harbour.
The space is a 300-seat indoor-outdoor dining room with a 360-degree bar at its centre. Head chef Luke Bourke was SMH Good Food Guide Young Chef of the Year 2025. The Salt & Vinegar Martini (Oyster Shell Gin, caperberry brine, chardonnay vinegar) is weird in the best way.
Tip: Weekdays only for happy hour pricing. Weekends are full price but the oysters are still $3.
Manly Pavilion — The Classic

The Pavilion sits right on the water's edge near the ferry wharf, and its happy hour is one of the most reliable in town: $12 for margaritas, Aperol Spritz, tap beer pints, house wines, and house spirits. That's essentially their entire bar at a flat $12. The deck catches the last of the afternoon sun and the ferry-watching is unmatched.
Tip: The Pavilion doesn't take happy hour bookings. Arrive by 3:55pm on Fridays or you'll be standing.
Hugo's Manly — Sunset Spritzes on the Wharf

It's family-friendly, loud in a good way, and the Aperol Spritz at $9 is the best spritz deal in Manly.
Tip: Happy hour here pairs dangerously well with their $15 margherita pizza. You can eat and drink for under $25.
The Beachfront & Ocean-View Bars
Shore Beach Club — Rooftop Margarita Territory

Tip: Shore Beach Club is also the spot for weekend bottomless brunch and live DJs, but happy hour is the budget play. Wednesday 4pm is the sweet spot — half-price drinks plus all-day $10 spritzes.
55 North — Hotel Bar That Doesn't Feel Like One

Tip: Good rain-day option. It's indoors, heated, and never feels crowded.

The Ivanhoe is a proper old-school pub on the Corso — TAB screens, sticky carpet in the right places, and a surprisingly good bistro out back.
Tip: This stacks with their regular daily specials. Check the blackboard when you walk in.

Follow the neon wine bottle down a Whistler Street alley and you'll find a 32-seat bar specialising in natural wine, modern British food, and creative cocktails. Happy hour: $8 draught schooner, $10 wine of the month, $10 Muyu Highballs, $11 draught cocktails. The Muyu Highball alone — a Southeast Asian botanical spirit with soda — is worth the trip. Intimate, sophisticated, and somehow still casual enough for sandy feet.
Tip: 32 seats. On Friday and Saturday, get there at 4:30pm or you won't get one. Date-night territory.
The Cumberland — The Fridge-Door Speakeasy

Walk into what looks like a small bodega-style deli on Central Avenue. Open the fridge door at the back. The 5–7pm window means this is a natural second stop after the 4–6pm waterfront sessions end.
Tip: The martini at $16 is $8–10 cheaper than the regular price. Order it. The whisky list is serious — ask the bartender what's drinking well.
The Hold — A Pirate Ship With Good Cocktails

The Hold looks like an 18th-century galleon crashed into a Manly side street and decided to serve drinks. Candles, lanterns, nautical curios, and towering burgers held together with daggers. The happy hour schedule is day-specific:

Donny's is a two-storey New York-style loft bar with a Cali-Mexican kitchen pumping out margaritas and street food. Happy hour is $8 house drinks and $23 for two cocktails — essentially two-for-$23 on any two signature cocktails. On Mondays, hospitality workers drink for $6 all night.
Tip: The 5–7pm slot makes this a perfect second-round venue. Do your 4–6pm somewhere on the wharf, then walk up to Donny's.
Belgrave Cartel — Parisian Wine Bar Energy

A sliver of Paris on a Manly backstreet. Intimate, low-lit, with an ever-changing menu of pasta, tapas, and desserts. Happy hour: $8 beers, $10 wines, $12 cocktails. The deal only runs Tuesdays and Sundays (3–5pm), which makes it feel more like a discovery than a routine.
Tip: Sunday 3–5pm is the secret. Manly's weekend crowd has mostly gone home, the light through the front windows is golden, and the place feels like it belongs to you.
Henry G's — Wine, Books, and a Piano

Henry G's is a wine parlour disguised as a 19th-century library, with over 2,000 antique books lining the walls and 170+ wines on the list. Tip: This is one of the few Manly venues that also does a solid weekend breakfast (from 9am). Day-to-night territory.
Wahlburgers — The $7 Jugs

The Wahlberg family's burger chain runs one of the cheapest happy hours on the beach: $7 pints, $7 wines, $15 jugs. That $15 jug is roughly two-and-a-half pints — effectively $6 per pint when you do the maths. It's not craft beer, but at those prices it doesn't need to be.
Tip: The 3pm start is early, and the 5:30pm finish is earlier than most. Use it as your warm-up venue.

Friday only, one specific window, and the best single-item deal in Manly: $5 draught beer, $10 spritz and negroni. That's a Sydney happy hour price from 2015. The window is tight (4–5:30pm) but if you're starting your Friday night early, this is the place to open the tab.
Tip: Check their Instagram before heading down — the deal sometimes shifts days during summer.

The old Quarantine Station on North Head is now a hotel, restaurant, and one of the most unusual happy hour locations in Sydney. It feels like you've driven three hours out of Sydney.

Practical Tips
The 4pm scramble is real. Most Manly happy hours start at 4pm. Arrive at 3:55pm on Fridays and Saturdays if you want a seat at the waterfront venues. By 4:15pm the best spots are gone.
Chain your sessions. The classic Manly happy hour route: start at 3pm at Wahlburgers or Mex & Co (earliest start times), hit the wharf venues 4–6pm, then move to Donny's or The Cumberland for the 5–7pm window. Three venues, three hours, under $40.
No bookings needed for happy hour. Almost none of these venues take happy hour table reservations — it's walk-in only. The exception is Felons Seafood, which takes online bookings for ocean-side tables.
Public transport is part of the experience. The F1 Manly Ferry from Circular Quay takes 30 minutes and drops you literally at the happy hour strip. Last ferry back is around midnight. The trip costs the same as a bus and it's one of the best harbour cruises in the world.
Rain doesn't stop it. Manly has indoor venues for wet days: 55 North (hotel lobby bar, heated), The Cumberland (underground speakeasy), Henry G's (library wine bar), Donny's (two-storey loft), Belgrave Cartel (intimate Parisian bar).
Check socials before you go. Venues occasionally shift times for events or seasons. A quick Instagram check on the day saves you from turning up to a closed happy hour.
Bring your dog on Wednesday. 4 Pines upgrades your schooner to a pint for the price of a regular if you bring your dog on Wednesdays. One of the best-natured deals in Manly.
