The local take
Donny's is a two-storey bar on Market Lane, the lane off the Corso, styled as a New York loft: exposed brick, copper lighting and leather chairs, with touches of Australian country. It's one of the latest-opening bars in Manly, trading until 2am most nights.
The drinks are house cocktails, local beers and a handpicked range of wines. The food is tapas-style plates and platters for sharing. Happy hour runs from 5 to 7pm every day, and the week has its own specials: steak night on Tuesdays, Rockaoke with live musicians on Thursdays, live music from Friday to Monday nights, and bottomless brunch at weekends.
It opens at 5pm from Monday to Thursday, 4pm on Fridays and 3pm at weekends. Upstairs, the Loft takes private functions for about 30 seated or 65 standing. It's the place for after-dinner drinks or a late night, when the lane is at its liveliest.
