The local take

Felons arrived from Brisbane as the centrepiece of the Manly Wharf takeover, and it now runs a small family of venues on the wharf: the much-loved Manly Wharf Hotel rebranded as Felons Manly in October 2024, the 300-seat Felons Seafood dining room replaced The Bavarian downstairs in mid-2025, and a microbrewery with a beer hall is on the way in the old supermarket space. The flagship is a big, bright beer hall on the water pouring the crisp lager and hazy pale that made its name, with wood-fired pizzas, long share tables, and live music spilling onto the boardwalk most weekends. Step off the ferry and you're ten metres away.

The weekly rhythm rewards locals: happy hour 4–6pm on weekdays, $20 plates Monday to Thursday, trivia on Tuesdays, and a family-friendly community day with live music every Sunday. Early TripAdvisor reviews are mixed as the huge room finds its feet, but the fundamentals — location, beer, energy — are all there. Go on a sunny Saturday afternoon, grab a table on the harbour edge, and it makes complete sense.

Felons Manly Wharf is also in our food guide — see the restaurant page for the kitchen side of the story.
