4 Pines Brewpub
Pacific Ale metres from where it's brewed, opposite the wharf.
The local take
4 Pines started in Manly in 2008, and the brewpub opposite the wharf is still the spiritual home — the Pacific Ale you've seen in every bottle shop in Australia, poured metres from the original brewkit. The upstairs dining room does an above-average pub menu; downstairs is the classic post-beach crush of thongs, salt hair and first-round schooners.
Among Manly's nearly 700-review TripAdvisor heavyweights it holds a 4.3, which for a venue this busy is remarkable. If you only do one brewery stop in Manly, it's this one; if you're doing them all, start here and work north to Brookvale.
