The local take
Donny's is a two-storey bar and dining room on Market Lane, off the Corso, styled as a New York loft: exposed brick, copper lighting and leather chairs, with touches of Australian country. It's one of the latest-opening venues in Manly, trading until 2am most nights.
The drinks list covers house cocktails, local beers and a handpicked range of wines. The food is built for sharing, from tapas-style plates to platters. Happy hour runs from 5 to 7pm every day, and the week has its own specials: steak night on Tuesdays, Rockaoke with live musicians on Thursdays, live music from Friday to Monday nights, and bottomless brunch at weekends.
It opens at 5pm from Monday to Thursday, 4pm on Fridays and 3pm at weekends. Upstairs, the Loft takes private functions for about 30 seated or 65 standing. Come for after-dinner drinks or a late night out, when the lane is at its liveliest.
