The local take
Bottega is a small Italian paninoteca and enoteca at Shop 4, 27 Sydney Road, between the wharf and the Corso. By day it's a sandwich and coffee bar. In the evening, on the nights it stays open late, it turns into a wine bar.
The menu is built on Italian produce: panini and piadine with fillings made to order, carpaccio and grazing boards of cured meats and cheese, and homemade tiramisu that reviewers rate highly. The wine list is Italian. It also does takeaway, delivery and catering for private and corporate events.
It opens at 8am every day. On Mondays to Thursdays it closes in the afternoon, on Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 10pm, and on Sundays it closes at 6pm. Come for a proper panino at lunch, or a glass of Italian wine and a board in the early evening.
