The Nook is exactly what the name promises — a skinny little bar on Sydney Road where the bartender is close enough to talk you through the cocktail list, which leans American: bourbon, sours, and a short menu of comfort food to match. A dozen seats, warm light, zero door policy drama.

It fills a real gap in Manly between big pubs and wine bars: somewhere to drink a properly-made cocktail without shouting. Take the early evening seats, order whatever the special is, and treat it as the opening chapter of the night.
