The local take
The Ivanhoe Hotel at 27 The Corso traces its history to Manly's first licensed hotel, which stood in what is now Ivanhoe Park on the corner of Sydney Road and Belgrave Street. The pub was later rebuilt on the Corso in the 1990s and refurbished in 2013.
Today it's a big, relaxed local with 16 indoor and outdoor spaces over three floors, including two rooftop bars. There's live music every day except Tuesday, which is trivia night, plus salsa lessons and other events through the week. The food is pub classics.
It's open every day from late morning until midnight. It's the pub locals tend to choose, and it works for a casual afternoon beer on a rooftop as well as a band at night. Prices are friendlier than at the beachfront venues.
