The local take
Moo Gourmet Burgers has been on South Steyne since 2009, upstairs at 2/33 South Steyne with the surf across the road. The window seats look straight out over Manly Beach, and the room is as busy with locals as with visitors coming off the sand.
The formula is simple and well done. The beef is 100% grass-fed and free-range from the NSW Northern Rivers, ground fresh, and served on soft milk buns with hand-cut chips and sauces made in-house. Burgers include the Classic Moo, the Manly Double, the Reef, and the Garden, a vegetarian halloumi and mushroom burger.
It's open from 11am to 8pm every day, public holidays included. Walk-ins are welcome and you can book a table. It's a good lunch after a morning in the water, and an easy early dinner for families, a two-minute walk from the Corso.
