The local take
Manly Thai Gourmet is a small Thai restaurant tucked away in Shop 6 of the Pacific Point Arcade, 4-10 Sydney Road, between the Corso and South Steyne. It's upstairs at the back of the arcade and easy to miss. The plain room has limited seating, but a few balcony tables catch a glimpse of the beach and the sound of the surf.
It's best known for its lunch specials. Choose a curry or a stir-fry, add chicken, beef or prawns, and it comes with rice for one of the lowest prices in central Manly. At lunchtime it's often busy enough to spill into the arcade. Reviewers praise the curries and the pad thai, and say the serves are generous for the price.
It does takeaway and delivery as well as dine-in. Go at lunchtime for the best value, or pick up dinner to eat on the beach a minute away.
