Q Station Sydney Harbour National Park
A heritage retreat inside the national park, away from it all.
The local take
Q Station is unlike anywhere else in Manly: the restored former quarantine station spread across the bushland of North Head, inside Sydney Harbour National Park. You stay in heritage cottages and buildings with harbour views, wallabies and bandicoots on the lawns, and genuine ghost-tour history after dark.
The trade-off is distance — it's a 25-minute walk or a free shuttle to the village, and the ratings reflect guests who arrived expecting a conventional hotel rather than a heritage site on a hill. Come for the isolation, the walks, the sunrise over the harbour and the story; it's a destination in itself, not a base for the beach.
