The Wine Room lives inside the Balgowlah RSL Memorial Club up at Seaforth, and it's exactly the kind of unglamorous-address, excellent-glass surprise the Northern Beaches does well. A rotating by-the-glass list with a soft spot for small producers, proper cheese and charcuterie boards, and club-priced pours that undercut every beachfront wine list in Manly.

Sign in as a visitor at the front desk, walk past the bistro, and settle in. It makes an easy first stop before a night down the hill in Manly — or a destination in itself if you'd rather trade beach crowds for conversation.
