Manly Pavilion
Spritzes and oysters on the water's edge as the sun drops behind the wharf.
The local take
On the West Esplanade past the wharf, Manly Pavilion occupies a 1930s bathing pavilion with a terrace hanging directly over the water, looking back across the cove. It's the definitive Manly sundowner: a spritz, a dozen oysters, and cliffs turning pink across the bay while the last swimmers towel off below.
The room behind the terrace runs Italian-leaning dinners if the drink turns into a night, but the terrace is the reason you're here. Golden hour tables go fast in summer — book, or arrive unfashionably early and hold your ground.
