The local take
Momo Bar is a small, mostly outdoor spot at 28 Market Lane, the lane running off the Corso, with only five or six tables. It does two things: Nepalese dumplings (momos) and Hawaiian-style poke bowls.
The momos are steamed and seasoned with herbs and spices, in fillings that include chicken, pork, lamb, organic lentil and mixed vegetable. They come Nepali-style with garlic yoghurt and paprika sauce or achar, a tomato and sesame relish. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices, and the gluten-free chicken momos get especially good reviews.
It's open from 11am to 9pm every day. Prices are low and service is quick, and you can order through Uber Eats. It's a great cheap lunch or early dinner between the beach and the shops, or a takeaway to eat by the water.
