The local take
InSitu is a bar and restaurant at 18 Sydney Road, just off the Corso, and it has been trading in Manly for more than 20 years. It's part restaurant, part bar and part live music venue, with an alfresco courtyard and live music in the bar in the evenings.
The food is modern Australian with a casual bent: pizzas, tapas-style plates to share, and breakfast and brunch at weekends. The bar does cocktails and runs a happy hour. Reviews are mixed on the food but consistent about the atmosphere, which is at its liveliest on weekend nights.
It opens from late afternoon on weekdays and from 9am at weekends, and stays open late on weekend nights; check the hours below before you go. It's a good place to start or end a night in central Manly, or for a weekend brunch in the courtyard.
