The local take
Yok Thai is a modern Thai restaurant at 11-21 Wentworth Street, in the small restaurant strip between the Corso and the wharf. It has been open since 2000, which makes it one of the longest-running restaurants in Manly. The kitchen, led by Chef Jay, aims for fresh, clean flavours over heavy sauces.
The menu covers the classics (curries, stir-fries, salads) alongside dishes like choo chee prawn curry and grilled wagyu. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are clearly marked. There's a short cocktail list, and you can bring your own wine at lunch for a corkage fee.
It opens for lunch from 12pm to 3.30pm and for dinner from 5.30pm, Wednesday to Sunday, and it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Book online, or order takeaway. Note the surcharges on Sundays and public holidays. It's a good choice for a relaxed dinner, and close enough to the wharf for an early meal before the ferry.
