The local take
The Grand Dining Room is the training restaurant of the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), in the sandstone building on the hill above Manly at 151 Darley Road. When it's open, first-year hospitality management students serve lunch and dinner under supervision as part of their course.
It has traditionally opened during term only, with lunch at 12pm and dinner at 6.15pm from Tuesday to Friday, and never on weekends or public holidays. It also closes for college events such as graduation.
ICMS currently lists the Grand Dining Room as closed to the public until further notice, and restaurant listings show it as temporarily closed. If you'd like to eat there, call ICMS on (02) 9977 0333 to ask whether it has reopened. The building itself is worth seeing, from the beach or on the walk up Darley Road.
