Edo Sushi & BBQ is a small Japanese and Korean shop at 2 Sydney Road, just off the Corso. There isn't much room inside and most people take their food away: sushi rolls, sashimi and Korean barbecue dishes, made quickly and sold cheaply.
Reviewers praise the fresh sashimi, the quick service and the prices. The complaints are about waits at busy times and rolls that are heavy on vegetables. It's a lunch place more than a dinner one. Listings show it open from 11.30am until late afternoon, Monday to Saturday, and closed on Sundays, so check before making a special trip.
Its main strength is location. It's on the walk between the wharf and the beach, which makes it an easy place to pick up sushi to eat on the sand. After a week of beachfront lunches, it's one of the cheapest meals in central Manly.
