The local take
Bistro Manly is the all-day French-style bistro in the Elysium Manly hotel at 55 North Steyne, looking straight out to Manly Beach. The hotel relaunched under the Elysium name in August 2026, and the bistro sits alongside Cibaria and the 55 North bar.
Executive Chef Ryan Dawson, who previously cooked at Cottage Point Inn and Sugar Palm, runs a menu of classic bistro dishes with a modern touch, built around local seafood and seasonal produce. There are separate lunch, dinner, dessert and kids' menus, and a wine list.
Breakfast is served every day from 6.30am (until 10.30am on weekdays and 11am at weekends). Lunch runs from Friday to Sunday, and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday. Book through the hotel's website. The light-filled room and beach views make it a good choice for a long weekend breakfast or a relaxed dinner on the north side of the beach.
